26 Sep Uganda Halaal Bureau certifies Pearl Dairy
The Uganda Halaal Bureau (UHB) has certified Pearl Dairy as a Halal product manufacturer of Instant-Full Cream Milk Powder, Skim Milk Powder, Full Cream Milk Powder and Butter Oil. This milestone which recognizes Pearl Dairy’s efforts in the nutritious production of dairy products comes just after establishing the milk plant in end of 2012. UHB offers halal certification services to food processing enterprises, restaurants, hotels, slaughter houses and butcheries.
“The HBU certification is a strong reflection of our efforts in the production of responsible milk products and is a landmark achievement for Pearl Dairy in its efforts in Kiruhura region” said Mr Devendra Seth MD of Pearl Dairy. He further added “We can now fulfill our aim of applying the best of science and product expertise to provide families with nutritionally enriched milk products.”
Pearl Dairy currently has a milk processing capacity of 500,000 liters per day. The UHB certification will enable Pearl Dairy to expand its reach in newer markets and thereby grow as a major player in milk product manufacturing business.
